New scholarship policy for 15 major groups

Introduction

The Ministry of Education and Training has announced the scholarship policy under Decree 179/2026/ND-CP for new students admitted to 15 key basic science, key engineering, and strategic technology fields. The program aims to provide direct financial support from the first academic year for high-quality human resources.

Benefits

• Scholarship amounts range from 3.7 to 5.5 million VND per month depending on the specific field group and evaluation criteria.
• Direct financial support starting right from the first year of undergraduate studies.

Requirements

• Achieve a minimum score of 22.5 to 24.35 in the high school graduation exam (depending on the field group) based on the combination of Mathematics and two of the four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, or English (excluding priority points, bonus points, or conversion points).
• Belong to the top 30% of students with the highest scores in the same major.
• Or achieve first, second, or third prizes in national or international excellent student competitions as regulated.

Important Milestones

• Applicable to the 2026 admission cohort under the decree taking effect on July 15, 2026.
